Back to cribbing

After the super happy few days, can I crib a little?

- I didnt realize I was so allergic to cats. I had cats in my house for a year and I had a perpetual cold which was actually asthma like allergy symptoms. I realized it very late. The same symptoms cropped up in the first cat place we stayed in in Edinburgh. I knew they host had a cat, and I didnt think it would bother me so much. But by the morning I was ready to get out. Next cat house was in Bath, followed by Swanage. 4 cat hair nights put my system in overdrive protection and now after almost a week, my symptoms are not gone. Breathing trouble. The good news is I was perfectly fine with dogs ;--)

- Our house is a mess. And there is no point cleaning it too, since we are moving soon. But messy house does lead to a messy mind.

- We are moving, in like 3 days. But there is barely any indication of that except of a few boxes that we packed before going on vacation. We will just go with the flow, put everything in boxes and deal it with slowly.

- After the vacation moving seemed like a big pain. Was I so jobless that out of the blue we took this onus of selling/renting our house and moving? I dont know how I get such crazy ideas. May be I am crazy and DH is crazy to cater to my craziness. It was rather unsettling when we didnt know which school she would be in in the Fall. We were notified two days ago that JSK has a spot in a school 1 mile from home. Phew! That kind of made me feel relieved and little bit excited for her. Will she like it, will she have a problem settling in? I have to look for after school options.

- The thought of moving into our next house is not very enticing. The house is old. So many compromises. Good thing that we are only renting!

- Monday after we move, I have to go to Ftown, and DH has some important meeting he cannot miss at 9, and daughter starts new summer session which starts at 9. :--(

Will end with some happy notes.

- Friends A and S have moved to Bay Area! And in fact we dropped by their new place for dinner last night (inspite of jetlag). We hope to meet lot more often. This is actually my dream come true. ;--) I have always wished for them to be closer and now they are!

- DH's friends are touring CA and visited us the very day we arrived from UK. It kinda helped soften the blow of being back. It was nice to have so many people in the house, everyone pitching in and cooking and doing the chores. There were 4 kids and they left home at 12:30 the next day ;--) Thats how long it takes to get ready in the morning. ;--) In UK, JSK would sleep until 8 and we would try to get out by 9:30-10, when we didnt have trains to catch.

- I got a warm welcome back from the team. It was nice. A colleague is moving on, and I will be filling in for him, more work, but more interesting work.

- Moving to a new place is kinda exciting. I joined the mom network, and already registered for an event.

- The day we returned dotter was so happy to be reunited with her books, she read like 7 of them before falling asleep in jetlag. I slept long before she did.

- It is good to be missed at work, good to be busy. All through the holiday I didnt have a headache, it is all stress. I hope to keep my head from winding up tight with stress. Holiday does make you relaxed.

- I am already plotting my next trip :--P which may not happen for another 2-3 years because we are paupers again with the exorbitant monthly rent.
   - Eastern Europe
   - Iceland
   - South America
   - DH wants to go to Italy again, because he doesnt remember anything from the last trip ;--)

- Visiting small towns are much nicer than visiting big touristy towns. I loved Scotland (I already want to go back!), York, Swanage in Dorset the best in this trip. We are not city partying people, we prefer quiter holidays.I sure am glad my 'English' craze has abated a bit.
