| Too long.. |
| Monday, August 07, 2006 |
It has been over a year since I came back from India. And I once again feel the familiar pangs of longing for home, Chennai, our little flat, our Church, the little road buzzing with activity on which our complex is located, T.Nagar, Spencers, even our Electric train, salwar clad chic looking young girls.
I am learning that it is a circle, the homesickness. It creeps in a year after you have been away from home, slowly builds up nostalgia, every single thing starts reminding of home. It doesnt help that a sibling is getting ready for his big journey to richer pastures, and there is lot of shopping, and preparation going on. History seems to be repeating itself, only I am no longer a part of it.
Every song reminds of home, how the song would be blaring in the nearby tea stalls for everyone to hear. How the songs would be played atleast a couple of dozen times on the KTV or whatever is the Channel famous for Newest of Tamil movie songs.
Three weeks in India would be a welcome break from the regular grind. Sometimes makes you wonder what the heck were you doing in that alien land, slogging day in and day out. Totally different life.
Last time when I returned back from home, I was a little happy to be back here, where I can be independant, and free, and more casual. And more importantly have some things, some people for myself. Life is never be the same when I go back home to India, but I will always remember it as a cosy, warm cocoon, nestled by the most loving parents.
Badly miss being back in India.
Miss everything about home.
PS: On a totally different note, AR Rehman plus Bose is a deadly combo. |

Yeah, I know that feeling :-(! Only solution for that is to go to India. If you can't, well, should just wait it out! Good luck :-)!
