Yesterday we were in dungeon mode at work. A bunch of us gathered in a conference room working. I needed a power chord as my laptop battery was almost discharged. I asked a colleague if I can borrow his and he gracefully loaned his chord to me.
I said, "Danke" Which means Thank you in German. I picked that up during my Europe Trip.
Now this guy and the other guy beside him, didnt know what it meant. The second guy had a look of horror and laughter in his face.
"Man! You give her your power chord and she is calling you a donkey!!"
LOL! Somehow my Danke was heard as Donkey to those guys.
I laughed for a long time before explaining. :--)

One fine day, at work, SK noticed that people were getting mean to each other day after day. Leg pulling was exceeding tolerable thresholds. SK had to come up with a solution.
A mean counter. A simple counter on SK's white board, with everyone's name on it. If ever anyone is mean to anyone else, their counter is incremented.
All is well in Pest Patrol aisle, with everyone watching their mean counter, being extra nice to decrement their counters. Until SK gets a sprain on her leg and starts limping. I, SK's neighbour thinks its once in a lifetime opportunity to pull SK's leg. He comments stuff like, "Can you walk any faster?" Or "We can carry your laptop bag to your car for a small fee, just 25 bucks" and "Hey! I can do something that SK cant do!" And start jumping like a maniac.
Mean counter is going haywire, SK says. I says it is too good an opportunity to miss, to pull SK's leg.
Today the meanie boy even tried to video record poor SK limping back home to make some joke out of it.
SK needs to come up with a different plan to reduce the meanness in the aisle. Any ideas? |
