Happiness Project #26

- JSK slept within 5 minutes of her head hitting her pillow. After handling her awake for more than an hour last night due to a random family nap in the afternoon, this is happiness! Driving back from school she noted ' I saw George Washington's house' I was like 'really?' 'Yes it said Washington' Turns out George Washington lives in Washington High School ;--) Just wanted to document.

- words she wants to know meaning for - hypothesis, unforeseen, mysterious, scrunched - I don't know the meanings of some words are these seriously for kids? I am trying to remember how I started reading. I didn't understand half of what I was reading thanks to all of them being England based stories. Imagination to my rescue. I didn't have the Internet to find out how to pronounce a word, I read it as I thought right.

- talking of England, went for my finger printing appointment today, too much for a tourist visa. Last time we applied for the UK visa in 2005, it was a painful experience, we got our visas  a day before we were to fly. This time also we are cutting it close, fingers crossed. Mr Bill Bryson visits Dorset too, in his book! I kinda thought it will be one off tourist location we will visit but I may be wrong.

- watched Run Boy Run. Holocaust movies always tug my heart. How they work for food. How some kind hearted people help the Jews. Life during those times was tough, should we be thankful that the biggest of our worries don't come close to food, shelter and clothing. And the brave surivive. The gritty, courageous,  smart ones. The impact it has on 8 year olds is monumental. I cannot imagine JSK going through such atrocities in 3 years and surviving it. Hitler wanted to eradicate Jews, and the Jews slowly built their population, Israel has a same population as Chennaj, last time I checked.

- walk with Daisy in the afternoon was fun ;--)
