| What seemed totally out of control on Monday feels much better today. I even have time to think about watching a movie or something on the iPad.
It has been mixed feelings about the move. We like it one instant and the next instant regret it. The swinging pendulum.
I set up the kitchen on Sunday, it was tiring, to plan the use of the cabinets, decide what to keep and what to throw, arrange. I miss my pull out pantry drawers SO MUCH. Pantry shelf is a deep abyss. But my organizing experience helped me group them in trays to make pulling out stuff much easier. I think. We will see. I have more cabinets actually, some are empty! I got upset when a shelf door hinge came off. I could have cried, but like a big girl I actually debugged the problem, found the problem, got a screw driver and fixed it. Hurrah for me!
Monday I drove to Ftown and back for an important 4hour meeting. My head was pounding when I got back. DH is trying out his commute options, parking, trains, timings. I feel sorry for him, but I am sure it is just a matter of time until he figures out the perfect commute plan. His life since he married me has been about commuting only. But what can I do? He picks these faraway places to work in. Our industries are so vastly different it is hard to find jobs in the same area. May be if I get a job in SF too, we can move to SF. No guarantee commute will be easier still with the atrocious prices. I want to get a job in Palo Alto. Life will be a breeze.
JSK started summer session in Altschool. I spend 10mins in the school and I see Tesla after Tesla parking. :--) always nice to see fellow enthusiasts. I loved the school and immediately wished she could go there full time. Enthusiastic teachers, great school with collaborative rooms, freedom to kids without being judged. Dotter actually peed in her clothes yesterday because she was way too excited working on something to use the restroom. The teacher said she soiled her clothes but she was very responsible and changed on her own. Just the way they handle kids seemed amazing. I felt I have left her in good hands. Even my rambunctious little dotter seemed like an angel there. Marked difference. She is in a robotics class learning snap circuits. I know too hi fi for her age but I just wanted to try out the school.
Everything within Palo Alto is close by. If you want to get out and go somewhere else, well, good luck. Numerous STOP signs which really bugs me I just wait until everyone crosses the intersection and leave last.
Did I already mention that when I wake up in the mornings I feel like I am in a cabin in the forest? Birds chirping, lot of green through the wide open windows, a little haven amidst the buzzing busy Silicon Valley.
View from the bedroom.
Thus ends Tuesday of Week 1.
