.. train to be more sarcastic? I have this friend, who is as witty as a ...err.. is just witty, and is the most sarcastic person I have ever come across, in English. He just waits for me to speak and makes a remark so soon that I myself start laughing in spite of the fact it was being directed at me. :--(
There was a time, when in college, when I used to get really offended by such sarcasm and remarks that I used to go crying to DH, my best friend then, for consolation. I was way too sensitive. I thought I had recovered, grown up enough to not mind such petty retorts. But looks like I am still progressing. :--( for some reason I am an easy target, I have a feeling its because I can never retort back.
I am learning, I have succeeded in irritating DH with my 'yak yak' impression. This is how it goes. Whenever someone gives you a big lecture, or talks about something really serious and you want to be mean and irritate the person, or come out as being sarcastic about what the person is talking, use you left hand and with your fingers, make an impression of a puppet, and move your fingers like how you would make your puppet talk. And keep a reallly boring face, and move your head from side to side. For extra support to time your head movement, say 'yak yak yak yak' under your breath. It has proven to work! DH will vouch. :--D
So any more ideas on how to learn to be more witty and sarcastic and outright mean? ;--D |
