Too many thoughts in my head. Dumping them here.

* The week began with eager anticipation to watch the movie Shivaji. Our swimmer friend knew some distributor and was able to reserve tickets for a bunch of us Tamil folks at work. After each went to the ARR show separately we thought it would be a good idea to go watch the movie as a group. DH was super enthusiastic about the movie, and enthusiasm being contagious, I was affected too.

* Work is pretty relaxed now, I almost feel guilty for not working long hours. Regular 8 to 5 work times, with lunch at home, so far the past month has been the most relaxing work weeks I have had in the past two years.

* Monday, as I returned home from work, I saw one of the neightbour's cats. I immediately started petting him and cuddling him, he seemed to enjoy it, I think, he rolled on his back at my feet and was wriggling happily, I think. Suddenly, he went for my petting hand, and scratched me! There was immediate blood, a little. After a load of scolding by K, and some googling on the internet, revealing, Cat Scratch Disease and scaring us, we went to the Urgent Care. I was given some bacterial antibiotics.

* Wednesday, I had my appointment with an ENT specialist, for the ringing in my ears. Do you know how irritating it can be to have an keeeeeeeeeeng sound in your ears all the time? Ask me. Very much. My PCP had ordered an MRI of the brain, which had greatly scared me. I am digressing here, but, House is my latest obsession on TV. I watch MRIs being done all the time in those episodes, and its scary what all can happen to the body, due to our petty negligence.
I got my ears cleaned, and had a hearing test. They introduced sounds at low decibels and I was supposed to click something whenever I heard the sound. I almost thought I would fail the test, as I really had to concentrate very hard to hear for those sounds amidst the screeching sound in my ears. Fortunately, the nurse came in and said, "You can hear as well as my dog", I dont know if I was supposed to be offended by that, or relieved. I was the latter. Apparently I have to get my ears cleaned at the clinic once in six months! The ringing is still there, I have been prescribed some Oil to counter act the hard wax in my ears. I know its too much detail here, but its my blog right. ;--)

* Friday started off on a very dull note. Me and DH have been trying to plan out our upcoming vacation for the past few weeks. It is not helpful when some people can say, "XXXX is the last place I would go". I asked, "why oh why"? And they say "I want to go to Europe first". "We have been there." "And then Hawaii". "Err, been there too." "Then I want to go to Australia and NZ" "Yes I have to become a millionare for that, or win a lottery" "I guess its okay for you guys to go there now". Duh?! July is the best time to visit this place, and needless to say, everything is booked, or is too darn expensive. Having waited for one week for confirmation, the guy called and said they are fully booked. :--( My depression had no bounds. Especially as I am currently in the state where I am at the extremes of emotions. A couple wailing emails to DH, and he booked the same trip, in a few minutes, a tad bit more expensive, that is an understatement. Thats why I love DH so much.
So I was back to cloud nine.
Suddenly things were looking very good.
- My company's stock prices had gone up by a teeny bit, but just enough that now I can actually exercise my Options and not just burn them as useless paper. ;--)
- Due to some reason apparently everyone in second stage of Perm process can apply for their AOS now, everybody is current now looks like. There must be some catch to the whole thing, but it was certainly good news.
- And then, a colleague of mine was trying to solve something. He was trying to find the hidden tiger in the following picture.

They were trying to solve it like detectives. Bingo! I found it first! Another reason to be happy! :--) Try to find it yourself. :--)

It was a short day at work, since we had our Quarterly in the afternoon. I skipped it, because I didnt want to get baked in the sun in the name of rowing and canoeing, besides DH was home, and also because we were going to watch Shivaji in the evening.

* Although I generally prefer driving alone with DH, this time we car pooled with another couple. I was telling DH about how I cannot talk to someone for 2-3 hours straight. But surprisingly the hours passed by pretty quickly. DH is a grrreat conversationalist I should give him that. All three of them being Rajni fans, they were talking non stop. Topics mostly being, Rajni, movies, Bangalore, and invariably travelling. The girl happens to work with X with whom I also work at times, and she said that X said I was doing a great job of my work. Another reason to be on cloud nine! :--)

* We were about 20-25 of us, who travelled the long distance after a working day (half, for some like me) to watch the movie. Once all the whistling and the shouting started, I was kind of zapped back to reality. I mean, I dont enjoy such places. I prefer quiet places. I like to watch a movie at peace, it doesnt matter when we see it right? Is it worth all the pain my ears have to go through? ;--) But, it was nice. It was like being in India. Although I have never ever been to a Rajni movie in the theater leave alone the first week ;--), thats a different story.

* About the movie itself, I was most of the time scared of being subjected to the torture that would be to see the OLD face of Rajni on screen. But I think he looked bearable most of the time. During the times that I just could not take the illogical sequences of fights, I concentrated on the BackGround Music, of which ARR had done a grrreat job. All songs do justice to ARRs work, unlike SOK. I should not expect ManiRatham in Direction, but I missed the touch in the movie. There was not enough time dedicated to develop the characters. Ferrari has a good review, I agree with everything he says for the most part.
During the interval I was close to being disappointed, but the second half was better I should say. Vivek was good, in fact I thought he carried the first half mostly by himself. Some things that were done especially for Rajni fans I enjoyed too, just for the heck of it. For the Adhiradi song which I started liking more after I knew ARR has sung it, our guys started dancing. They were no competition the real Rajni fan crowd in India, afterall they are engineers, but still it was fun to watch them, dancing with some apprehension, of losing their little respect. :--)

* We stopped at IHop for dinner. I learnt that the girl was a KV product. I was so happy. We discussed about the KV trademark, what the school had to offer, good old times, of SUPW and CCA activities. It was fun.

* Me and DH realized we stick with the bachelor guys for activities like Skiing and hiking, and we also go out with the married couples to watch movies and concerts. We dont want to totally go into the married couple mode, because that is certainly boring. :--)

Overall the week went like a crescendo, started slowly, picked up momentum and finished with a bang. Weekend is going to be downhill, DH is leaving to Chicago on Sunday. :--( Which is why I am writing this post while the weekend is still young. I need some real support for the next week.
