I am writing too much about my doctor visits, I know, but what to do, sadly that is the only writable thing happening in my life.
Today me and DH had an appointment with a doctor a good half an hour drive away in an unknown little town. we could not supress our smiles when our trusty little GPS asked us to turn right into the rail tracks, to reach the destination. :--) Its funny how it keeps recalculating to go to the destination the same way. It took quite some driving around before it got tired and gave another, albeit correct route.
This is the third time this year I am getting a blood test. The first one was for 50 bucks at work, the second one was for allergies. Apparently I am so fat, the nurses cannot find any veins to take blood from. :--( That doesnt justify them poking around the insides of my inner elbow, like kadainjufying thayir. Today was no different. The first nurse tried and she gave up, with a spot of blood on my left inner elbow. Then another nurse came, did the same to the my right hand. Then she gave a shot on my other hand too. Till now three pokes and no blood.
I told them how one of the earlier nursees had taken blood from the part near my knuckles. Whatever do you call them. :--( I could see some veins there so there was hope. So another round of thayir kadaiyal, and finally they took whatever they needed. This is to test for all the unmentionable diseases. Another needle for Tuberculosis Test and a physical, and I was done. DH also had similar tests. That is not all, we are going back for more tests, and some more painful vaccinations in a couple of days.
I asked the nurse if it was because I had too much fat that they were not able to get to my veins. :--( She disagreed, but I have my own doubts. Sigh! Another reason to lose weight.
We treated ourselves to yummy Bhelpuri, Samosa Chat, Chole Bhature, wait I am not done yet, and chicken tikka masala. :--D The previous paragraph and this one were written by two different people. :--D We didnt drive all the distance to just get poked with needles and return! |
