Shalom from Israel.

Landed in Tel Aviv last evening. Flight was okay, two stop overs within US and then straight to Tel Aviv from Newark. Travelling with friend kind of reduced the trauma of travelling alone, a lot. We tried to draw money from the ATM at the airport. Everything is in Hebrew. Something in Green we guessed should be ENTER on the ATM machine. Got a Sim card for 1000 shekels. 1$ is about 4Shekels. My manager had given me his GSM cell phone to use here, thankfully.
Then we went to Hertz Rental Car, where we got our cars. Tiny cars, I got a Hyundai Getz or something. Driving is right side driving, similar to US, my US driver's license was enough. We got directions to our hotel, GPS costs like 55shekels per day, and we were to stay for a long time. Driving was okay, except the left lanes seemed to merge often and drivers were a little reckless. We saw our Hotel tower as we took the exit and just followed instincts to reach it. Hotel is ok, the receptionists spoke decent English. We got wireless internet as well for charge. So well connected for now.
Comfort wise I would place Israel between US and India.
Went for dinner at the restaurant in the Hotel. Had a Tuna sandwich, friend ordered some Salmon and it was totally uncooked.
No microwave or coffee maker in the room. That is a bummer. Otherwise the hotel is good. Most hotels were booked because of the Passover festival time. No bread for dinner because of Passover as well.

Figured out the adaptor and internet last night. Talked to DH for sometime and slept as my ears and eyes were aching terribly with the flight travel.

Slept decently, woke up at 6:30AM Israel time. My laptop is still in PST. And I dont have a watch. So I am still converting from PST to Israel time. Hehe. Ordered room service of some strange bread, jam, butter, orange juice and coffee, all for 10 shekels, about 3$. Cheap.

DH was flying back home, so couldnt talk. Went down for breakfast, again with friend. Good buffet. I had only fruits, but there are lot of good things to try. Friend ate very well. Hash browns, potato with cream, beans and carrots vegetables, almost Indian like. And lot of raw fish, we didnt touch.

Came back to the room, talked to DH. DH adjusts to such changes very easily, as he is very easy going. For now I am doing ok. In the flight they screened P.S. I love you. What timing! I dont want to watch such movies.

So anyway, now I think I will go to the Fitness Center, get some work out, to dissolve all the junk I have eaten during travel. That would be, orange cream biscuits, pinapple cream biscuits, little hearts biscuits, snack box in Continental, Indian Dinner and Break fast of Rice, Spinach and tofu curry in the long flight.

I will probably write more often now that I have all weekends to myself. So be prepared to be bored to death with excruiciating details.

Adios.

PS: Oh yeah, forgot to add, Blogger and Google openned in Hebrew :--D. Changed settings now. Colleagues said to expect language barriers a lot. Till now its been okay.
