This weekend was so relaxing in many ways.
Friday night had friends over, watched BSK shy away and cling to me, and then slowly open up to S because he slowly started playing with her legos. Even gave him a smile, a big deal for a 2-3hr meet. I was in a super good mood, will write more about it later, but I decided to stay up late and watch an extreme click flick, What to expect when you are expecting. :--) Stayed up until 3AM.
Saturday morning, thanks to DH taking BSK down for breakfast, I slept in until 9AM. We have bought a swing for our patio and it is proving to be super awesome. BSK would push the swing while DH sat on it. Role reversal indeed! It has a shade too so we can sit on it any time of the day. In fact one week day morning I sat there reading Little Blue Truck to BSK and I really loved those moments.
Went to the gym and got back, had left over pizza from previous night for lunch. BSK had yogurt rice and egg and wait for it..cherry tomatoes! She sure likes to experiment with her food choices. In summer I tend to keep the patio door open a lot and BSK would just run out and play on the deck. She is becoming an outdoorsy baby just like DH would want, but a little too much I guess. ;--) She loves to go out and look at all the blooming plants. Her pomagranate sounds the cutest. "Pomanganat"
She would sit on small step from deck to the concrete and would ask for me or DH to come and sit by her. "Amma/Appa inga vandhu sit pannu" pointing to her side. I gave her some carrot juice guilty at not having given her any veggies for lunch. This is the first time I am doing this. And she loved drinking from her big girl cup. I would tell her to be super careful as she picks up and puts the cup down. She would do it as carefully as a toddler can be expected to do it.
I tell her "BSK big girl-la, neeye kudi?" and she replies back with "Amma big girl-la, BSK-ku kudu!!!" Geez! This is when sometimes she wants me to feed her. She does that often. Would bring her fruit bowl or cheese stick and ask me "BSK-ku kudu" to feed her.
It is super funny to see her interact with her toys. Will say the exact things we say to her. Habba. Too much. Yesterday she wanted me to feed dinner, cabbage, to her teddy. It doesnt sound funny, but in the moment I just burst into laughter.
So anyway I cooked, after ages for some friends visiting. BSK was shy shy too shy and even cried out aloud at one point.
Sunday was such a relaxing day, just spending with DH and BSK in the house. They went to the park to play while I stayed at home and finished more cooking. She liked cabbage and wanted to eat like us, tear the chappathi and get the cabbage inside the chappathi and put the whole thing into her mouth. She is just growing too fast.
She has a great memory. We asked her about what S uncle said in the camping trip we went like 2 weeks ago and she said "S uncle owwie vandhudum sonnanga" Something S uncle must have said in passing while trying to discipline the girls may be. :--) Out of the blue she will remember all her chithappas and maamas and chithis and ask me to sing a song about each of them.
When did she start making her own songs? She will say "Appa idhu venuma" or something that she wants to tell us in her favorite rhyme tune. yesterday she sang "Appa idha vachukko" in Itsy bitsy spider tune. Same words, full tune. I also get live commentary on what is going on on TV. This Vivek scene was on on TV and she goes "Uncle kanom panranga (that is what she says when she is bathed! from head), achoo Paati Uncle-a thitranga, acho Uncle run panranga" etc etc. She knows Gopi Uncle from Neeya Naana since that is what is on in the TV somedays in the evenings. "Gopi uncle enge?" "TV la irukkanga." :--)
More later ciao! :--) |
