| Today is day 2 of take 2. I am on the floor in dotters room. Dotter is in her bunk bed. Sometimes I wonder if a normal bed would have made the transition easier, but I was thinking ahead, this bed is going to be with her for another 6 years atleast, and bunk bed works well for small spaces, as small is her room.and pretty much every kid that comes for a play date ends up on top and wants one. Cmon it is more fun.
She really is scared. A night lamp was on all night last night. DH and I have shifted to the guest bedroom for the time being since it is closer to her room and we can hear her if she calls out in the middle of the night. She was looking for witches and monsters in the window. She was tired from a 2.7mi hike (yes!) so she slept off quickly.
She has some 10 stuffed toys in her bed along with her for company. She was sleeping in her toddler bed in our room and she was getting too big for it. One of her good friends came out from school with her and I asked her if she slept in her own room. She did. That gave dotter some courage. This girls goes iceskating with dotter too, really helps her get over her fears, to see someone else do it first. I would have liked her to be the brave one encouraging others, hehe, like mom like daughter, I am a scared kitten by nature I guess.
She is asleep now.
I also had to take her for a blood draw today. Oh the ruckus! The nurse almost gave up and wanted me to come back with the husband because he is stronger. DH may be stronger but he is a scared kitten when it comes to needles. We finally did it, after a lot of tears. DH says NOW he agrees that I am a super mom ;--P when I ask the nurse for tips to handle this as she must have seen many kids the insensitive nurse tells me she has seen only 3 year olds cry, 5 year olds just come and get it done. Really? And I believed her when I was a boy also there for kindergarten blood draw walking around like nothing happened after the draw. And here was my girl not even putting on the seat buckle because she didn't want to bend her arm after the draw.
Tch tch. We are confirmed weirdos.
I got this book shelf I have been eyeing for a year now, finally. Books are all over the place and her book shelves were overflowing. Books are everywhere. And a nice desk for dotter to do her homework in. Her arts crafts coloring painting stuff is all over the place especially the peninsula where we sit and eat dinner. I am not sure if she will ever use her room upstairs. I have decided not to use the formal dining area for dining and continue to use it as dotter's play area. I feel the mess is a bit contained now.
That's how high the bunk bed is. The unit has lots of storage and actually a table too! When do kids start using their rooms extensively?
Yes I love white. Because it makes small spaces look roomy.
Happy Monday!

Aghoo starts in her room - most days. Weekdays anyways.. weekends are anyones guess.
She comes to our room at 3/4/5- on good days 6 am :)
We keep the hall way light on for her( Her room is across the hallway from our room).
i think consistency is the key. I give in on fri/sat and let her sleep with us.
MOndays are harder.. as the week goes by, she is tired from school and activities . so Sleeps off easily.
Her toys are stored in her room. But ofcourse she doesnt playing by herself in her room. Sometimes she will color there while I sit and do my work there too. or play with the baby in her room ( one of us is there with them)
bunk beds are fun!
