I am trying to spend my writing efforts towards my book. I write just like I write here, habit overcomes trials. A lot of I guess and I think and I realize. Pah. God help me.

I am reading this interesting book 'The Rational Optimist'. The author first covers  how humans evolved and trade has played a critical role in development. Trade was important for human beings to develop without relying on genetics or evolution ( opposing thumb, standing on two legs etc). Then he talks about how man moved on from being a hunter gatherer to a farmer. Now we talk about Organic produce and swear against fertilizers( including yours truly). But if fertilizers weren't invented, to improve yield many folds in the same land we wouldn't have survived, the author says, talking about famine and inability of countries to feed their people. If fertilizers are not used, we would need to turn 82% of our land to farms to feed the exploding population of our world. Man resolves one issue and in turn creates a few more. If man had not invented fueled machines to plough the land instead of horses and cows, a third of the farmland would have to be pasture for the animals. But I think were the author is going is that man has found solutions to his problems. So no need to worry about destroying the planet. I will update once I finish the book.

Work is getting busier. I find myself getting worked up and then I remember to stay calm and work on. I will give my best and focus during work hours. I will try my best to not let work overflow into family time. There are some folks that I greatly admire for their business acumen. I have a lot to learn. My inadequancies are showing up, and I tell myself that I am  learning. I have to negotiate skillfully, make informed decisions backed with data. I feel lost because I don't know what I don't know. I shouldn't feel lost, I know it is just a matter of time before I master this and eventually get bored of it.

There is yet another unique accented guy sitting next to me. He is from Srilanka but has lived mostly in Britain and Germany. You know I am a sucker for British accent. Imagine British accent occasionally mixed with Srilankan accent, another unique one that sounds nice to the ears, and this guys talks a lot. ;--) Today he introduced himself and said we are neighbors and we haven't been introduced. I told him I will get his contact when we go forward witg our plans of moving to Europe for a couple of years.

Who knew just not having meetings at nights could get you so relaxed and rested and productive during working hours?! I know I did, that is why I was yearning for it. Next I want to be able to attend all my meetings face to face instead of on the phone.

Good night!
