Hola!
Havent written anything because nothing much is happening. Mundane routine, work, home, sleep.
Still mulling over school for dotter. Public or Private? We looked at this new school which is supposed to be different, teach children differently. We liked the philosophy, something I totally believe in, learning should be made fun, but logistics are not working out. Bay Area is big, everything is so close yet so far away. Most likely she will go to public school. I am not able to judge how JSK will be. I dont find her very driven, can easily slack, gell with the crowd, find normal, BUT she does great if provided the right opportunity and learning experience.
I went to a Govt School until 10th, and when I went to a private school I thought I could have done so much better if I had studied in that school all through. Just the two years made a tremendous difference. But at the same time, I wouldnt have met the variety of people if not for the govt school. May be I wouldnt be so open minded, open to people that are different than me, if not for that.
One the other hand, one and only daughter, why not give her what we feel is the best?
Decisions decisions.
I feel like I dont have an identity. Who is SK? Do I have individuality? What do people think of me?
I am a mirror usually. If people are nice to me, I am nice to them. If people are icy and aloof, I reciprocate the attitude. If someone is very talkative, share too much, I do the same to them.
Nowadays I have started being myself. Confident, helpful, purposeful, driven.
A friend who has been wanting to make the transition from engineering, finally got a job, and she thanked me so much, it felt great. I know what a relief it must be. ;--P And I have more friends asking me for tips and ideas on how to make the transition. I am seriously thinking of doing a session in a conference on how to do this. Why not?
March is marching by fast, making no difference in life whatsoever.
I guess being robbed is not mundane.
Nothing big (thank God) but dotters shoes I ordered were stolen from our door step. It was a smart thief. There were 4 packages on the door step. She only took two of them. I am sure this has happened before as well. I would just forget what I ordered. This time she took the shoes that JSK and I ordered together with her input and she has been asking for it. I knew it would come yesterday and was surprised when it didnt show up. Amazon said it was delivered, so we looked at our security camera footage to find a women come and take the package just 10mins before DH came home.
They think we would report the item as lost and get it re-ordered. It is Amazon that pays the price. It is big it can afford such losses, so people decide to capitalize on it?
We decided to report to the police. The moment I said police, dotter began crying. We took the opportunity to tell her she should never take what is not hers and what is somebody else's property. She said she wants her shoes.
Police promptly came which is commendable. Took the report, and said she will ask the neighbors. Our neighbors have much better camera systems, like 4-5 cameras unlike us, we have 1. The police said folks from surrounding areas come to steal here because apparently our city has more affluent people?! wearing gold chains and jewelry. Apparently stealing delivery boxes are a norm, it is so easy to just take boxes from doorstep. Lot of folks have videos posted on the web.
