Do you know the game Mafia? Its a decent game, to play with more than 6 people, no boards or coins or chips needed, just some cards, lot of fun. Only problem is I suck at it. Really. This is how the game is played. There is 1 God, 2 cops, 2 mafias and rest are villagers. Only the God knows who the cops and the Mafias are, and the cops and villagers are supposed to find the Mafias and kill them. But before that the Mafias can try to kill the cops too. So the game proceeds. This game involves a lot of 'pretending' and investigating, trying to analyse the behaviour of people around you to guess who might be the Mafia. I cant get the game. For the simple reason I cant pretend. I cant pretend to be something I am not. If I am a Mafia, my face cries bloody murder, and if I am a cop my face shows my curiousness and enthusiasm to find the Mafia. Needless to say I was bad at it. One difference I found was, guys can give evidence with facts. "X is a thief because he didnt support this theory, or X did not make an attempt to refute the accusation" blah blah blah. But girls, on the other hand, go totally by what we call 'instincts'. Why do I think X is a Mafia? Because I feel it in my nerves. No concrete reason, just a hunch. What is amusing to note is that DH, turned out to be very good at the game. Voted by others the only Mafia to have successfully painted himself as an innocent villager while pretending to find who the Mafias where. Now I am really worried. Do I really know DH for what he is? Is he a dark shady character hidden under the charming person I know? LOL! :--) Me and DH are different in so many ways, I dont know where to start and where to end, I will skip explaining.
Me and DH have done many things together, but one thing we thought we might never ever do, we did this weekend. We studied together. :--D Curled up on the couch with a book between us, it was a lot of fun. We never got to argue much, since I am not much of an arguer, and he wouldnt dare argue with me over anything. We discussed a lot, most of the times, I misguided DH away from the right answer. :--) He is much better than I am in these things. I guess finally we are snapping out of the routine of movies, drives, and eating to doing something else, like playing Scrabble, or doing jig-saw puzzles or reading and even studying. Good, I need this. Else I cannot imagine going to work or working seriously with DH around. It is all fun and only fun with DH. Eventually I have to get used to the same old rut of work and chores with DH around, and this is a good start.
Last but not the least, I can officially claim myself to be a Chicken expert. :--D Me and DH had a sudden craving for spicy, home made, south indian style chicken gravy. The recipe for Chettinad Chicken on the internet proved to be super tasty when made. Yumm!!
Rest of the weekend was filled with analyzing 401K contributions, visiting a tax agent and getting something close to a heart attack, and spending a fortune shopping for unimportant things like decorative plants, photo frames and such paraphernalia.
Thus another weekend raced by. |
