Laksh writes a post a day. Which works well for me, I love regularly updated blogs. But its amazing how she can think of so many things, day after day. I was telling a friend, how if I had to write a post a day, I would be repeating the same thing over and over, drive away my few readers. I would probably mostly write about, work, work and more work, workout, food, and then some more work. I know, innocent girl living in her own world.
I am really too distracted today to write a blog. Some days words just flow out, I am happy. Some days I have to force myself to write because its been too long since I have updated my blog. So pliss to bear with me. I am scared to go into the crevices of my brain, and dig out the dirt and write it here, I will be devastated by the time I am done.
* I am feeling a tinge of sadness, as my manager is leaving on a sabbatical in a couple of weeks. I know, I should be happy, but strangely I am not. I have really liked working with him, he is soo awesome. He is very approachable, and friendly and cracks jokes in meetings, which I really like. I will miss him for eight weeks. I hope I work with the same zeal even after he leaves. And I am also jealous, he gets to go to Australia,Spain and Ireland. I wish I could do such a trip when its time for my sabbatical.
* I have a tendency to wrap myself in obsession. It can be anything from innocent music, or hard core work. For the past two days I have been trying to resolve something, I am not able to do anything else, think of anything else other than that problem. Its interesting, but obsession is not good at all, especially when you have your hands and legs on many other things that need your attention as well.
* Recently I have started doing some work in the Lab. Where you have to be careful not to get electrocuted or destroy parts, with those huge expensive, million dollar machines with a constant hum. I get reminded of college days which was the last time I was in such a place. I took DH to the lab over the weekend once, and he got scared, to see all those people working even on Saturdays with their Lab coats on. I have never worked with anything I can see physically, so its been a great experience so far.
* We went to the Indian Consulate this Monday to get some documents. A man with his wife and a daughter got into a fight with the security. It was really horrible. Reminded me of India. Its been a long time since I have visited India. I miss it terribly, but such incidents really disappoint me. How we Indians can put on our best behavior when we are around foreigners but cease to do the same to our fellow country men. Its not that we cannot be good, we just dont want to be. I am not pointing fingers at anyone, I am including myself here as well. Which brings me to the topic of returning to India. I know we will go back at some point. When has become a big question mark. I personally want to go back once both of us have built a good career for ourselves. But DH says the terms are very vague and I need to state them better.
* One of my friends at work is expecting. We are three girls in the team of about the same age. I used to wonder who would go the family way first. This really came as a shock to me. I am soooo not ready to have a baby. I would like to think I am still a kid myself ;--) We were watching this kid at the Indian consulate while waiting. She was very cute, talked really cutely, I was admiring her, wondering a little about how our kid would be. DH was looking at the kid as well. And he turned to me and said, "we should put a pony tail like that kid on you as well, then you would be just like her"!! Now you know where we stand on the kids talk.
 * V-day. Hm how can there not be a mention of it in my blog, the eternal romantic that I am. My stand on V-day is, anyday can be your V day, if you are in love. ;--D Thursday we were busy as my brother was leaving for his internship early morning the next day. So we decided to postpone V day celebrations to the weekend. We went to Napa Valley. As we had already done the winery tour and all that jazz earlier, we rented a tandem bike and biked around the vineyards. It was a wonderful experience. I wanted to make up for the multi-storeyed chocolate cake we ate post-lunch, by getting some workout while having fun. Initially we struggled a little to ride in sync. We were laughing while trying to ride, and making others on the way laugh as well. But once we got it, it was super awesome. Oh and I made this card for DH, handmade using good old MSPaint in 15mins. I know I am not a big time painter, but hey, I tried! (I will probably take if off in a few days, limited edition)
Hm, this is how super boring my posts would be if I wrote everyday, otherwise they are just plain boring. |

Hey Thanks! You flatter me. I quite enjoyed reading through your ramblings. The V day card is exactly the kind I would usually do for K :)

Nice card.. It reminds me of the drawing books of her little students my mother used to bring home. She was teaching first and second graders for sometime. :)
