| Its Party Time! |

Its amazing how good food and good company can lift your spirits up.
This past week has been a little dull, but last night fixed it, I am the usual bouncy self now. :--)
We had our Winter Party at work last night. It is a story in itself, that DH would say, how he reached home from Seattle after being stranded in snow, delayed at airport, stuck in traffic, for over 8 hours.
So we were super late to the party. We drove to the Resort while DH filled in on his mini adventure in a city which stopped functioning due to snow yesterday. We went in directly for Dinner. Me being my usual self, trying to be nice, tried to introduce some of the team members to DH and guess what, there were so many new folks I work with, I forgot their names. :--D Big boss saw DH and asked him how he manages to keep me happy. ;--) Apparently everyone I deal with knows I am not easy to be satisfied. It is left to be determined if thats a good thing or not.
Food options were fortunately not so bad. We had salad, veggies, fruits, lasagna, mashed potatoes. Thanks for so many Indians in the party planning committee.
There was an interesting game which combined Musical Chair with Scavengar Hunt. The folks playing had to go on a Hunt to the tables and get the said item, and get back to the chairs, instead of the usual music, before a chair is gone. It was super duper fun. We helped a girl a lot, with items like car keys, receipts, man's shoe, driver's license, lip balm, mint, the list goes on.
Then we played White Elephant, one gift per table, the gifts were good ones, MP3 Players, Bose HeadPhones, Digital Photo Frame. Friend in our table won Movie Theater Gift Card which had along with it as a surprise a Blu Ray Disc Player! Oh and our Big Big Boss was Santa! We had fun calling him Santa and asking for candy canes.
Then they taught a dance, which is supposed to be a dance they dance in American Weddings. Volunteers, which included me and some of my girl friends, and some guy friends too, clicked our two left feet and had a great time.
Then it was all our Big Bosses turns to Waltz. It was sooooo funny to see our Bosses mostly men being led by the woman in dance instead them leading as any dance should go. I should have known it coming. We thought it was just going to be some random dancing to random music after that. But a pleasant surprise awaited us. They actually had got a couple to teach us Ballroom dance moves!!
First they taught us Swing, and then Waltz. Memories of my Ballroom Dance sessions from long long time back in Grad School came flooding back. A friend challenged that he would dance if DH danced. And of course I wasnt going to let DH NOT dance! :--)
It was soo much fun dancing with DH, with friends around. DH wanted to make sure he led me, so carefully observed all the men's ie lead's moves and danced, err, did the steps pretty well. Yes, we even did the part where the guy lets the girl make a full rotation and join back. :--)
We met a lot of friends. Its funny how after over 3 years here, DH knows most of my friends, and my friends know him very well too.
Over all it was a super fun evening. I am glad I finally danced with DH in a party environment and also glad that finally DH knows some sort of dancing, that we can use in some other occasions! :--))
Holidays are just around the corner! Happy Holidays friends! Wish me luck in cooking, and also to the ones visiting us who will be eating what I cook. :--) If anyone is bored on Christmas hop on a flight and visit us in sunny CA. |

My wife got stuck and spent a long day at the Seattle airport too. Luckily she got a flight back home.. Long story again..
