I have too many things to write about and no time. Without further ado, let me start with the first topic I wanted to write about.
Last week, Sunday, in laws left. Thankfully MIL did not make a scene crying like she did the first time we left India to come here at the airport. It felt weird and lonely to be just me and DH at home. (Actually right now, it is just me at home, which sucks big time.) MIL kept her spirits up by saying it feels like we are just on yet another one of our trips, and she doesn't really feel like she is going away for real. DH was quite all the way as we drove to Saravana Bhavan in Sunnyvale.
We were to meet Altoid and Archana right after leaving in laws at the airport. Both of them have been good friends for quite some time now, about two years.
With Altoid, it was just completing a formality of seeing each other in person, for she knows everything happening with me, and I think I know most of what is happening with her. So needless to say, we had not much to talk about when we actually met ;--) No background investigation, no basic information needed to be shared. She was very generous in saving up some of her home made Diwali sweets to share it with us. Me, I didnt take anything to give her. What a shame. I had to share part of the sweets with Archana, tch tch, but since I did not have anything to contribute to Archana Welfare Fund as she called it, that day, I let it be.
We made sure we were in time for the meet, as I didnt want to piss off Archana for the second time in a row. She would have sworn not ever to meet me had we been late this time too. ;--)
We spent about 2 hrs eating, talking about Surya, movies, Bay Area, economy, with DH chipping in some random PJ, and acting himself at times, which made Altoid fall forward with laughter. And no I wont talk about what and how much each of us ate.
I must say Altoid is exactly as she sounds in her blog, and on IM. Poised and calm. Now Archana, as I have said before, she is not as gullible and naive as she sounds in her blogs ;--) Her voice itself demands respect, she cracks jokes without a twitch in her face, she is humorous.
Overall it was very nice meeting two good friends I have come to know through blogging. I hope I get to meet some of the other fellow bloggers as well, if they promise to continue being friends with me after the meet as well. ;--) |
