The past few days, whoever I see, inspite of large work deadlines looming in front causing knotted eyebrows 24/7, I have a wide grin and tell who ever would listen, we are moving!!
For those of you who have known me for long, are aware of the 'long distance' me and DH have been maintaining ever since we got married.
Our courtship days were spent seven seas apart, me in US and DH in India. Post marriage, one year was spent DH shutting between East and West Coast. Second year saw DH driving two hours, sometimes three-four depending on the traffic, to come home on weekends after a work week. Third year, DH flew to Seattle every Monday morning and came back home Thursday nights.
After four and a half years, finally, me and DH will be moving under the same roof and will dare to see each other's faces every night.
It's been a long ride. Tiring, frustrating, extended honeymoony phase (we never got sick of being with each other). The ride is not over yet. We are moving to namma Bay Area, hopefully, in a couple of months. Then I will be shuttling everyday to work. Till I dont know when.
And so our lives continue, Literally taking baby steps towards the finale of living together.
After all the cribbing in this blog, its only fair I record this happy moment here too! :--) |
