| Mine just got back from a trip to Sabarimalai. Apparently it involved walking on gravel road without slippers, and she thought of me because I enjoy hiking! Well I can never hike without shoes, Especially now with the state of my feet.
She is one adventurous lady trapped in unfortunate circumstances. She and Uncle went on a trip to Manasarovar, which involved tons of walking at high altitudes. We didn't realize the significance of the trip until we decided to do one ourselves. It was her dream to do it and her boys made it happen. As a side note, there is so much to experience in places closer to India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet! Surre places. Not too tampered by tourists may be?!
She makes a genuine attempt to relate with our generation. We have had some arguments on conflicting topics. It is a big deal to be able to openly talk about such things. I think her real skill is to be able to relate with anyone, not just our generation. So she will be different when she is in India surrounded by her relatives. One may say she is being hypocritical but I say it is a skill that will greatly benefit in a career that largely depends on dealing with people.
She is also generally super positive, makes the best of any situation. FIL has a short fuse and can get angry really fast. And also prefers staying at home to travelling outside. She still somehow makes the best of her situation, travelling whenever possible whenever uncle allows her to. A good example of how andha kaalathu women made things happen while letting the man of the house think he has all the power. Again while some may say it is sneaky, I say these are perfect survival skills for any situation. I admire her for making the best of he situation and not wallowing over how bad things are.
She is super loving. Unconditional and thoughtful. And selfless. She has spent all her life for her children. Treats me like her daughter. She wanted to make some health urundais for us to take on the trekking trip. So loving she is. But no space in bags.
Anyhow these might been blown up thoughts of her since I still haven't seen her yet :--p as usual mind only remembers the good things. Will see tomorrow! Or today. |
