Light -

What did we do on weekends? It has almost slipped our minds, as its been about five months since we had a normal weekend, me and DH observed, this past Friday evening, after returning from a trip to the temple. With count in the household reduced to four number from six, yes, the two does make a big difference, (let me cry a bit here, parents left, boo hoo) there is suddenly not so much time spent in cooking, nor does each trip to the grocery need to be planned in great detail like a terrorist plot (who will cook? what to cook? when to cook?).

Caught up on a lot of sleep, not that I needed them anyway, but lets say I made up for the nights I might be staying late this week.
This Saturday I wanted to be most productive, following my Resolutions, no, I havent forgotten them just as yet. Woke up DH as I usually do, parting his eye lids with my fingers, and locating his eye balls, and peer into his eyes. Had it been anyone else, who did that, they would have gotten the beating of their lives, but your truly being the true love of DH and all that, I am said, that I am spared. Propped up two fingers at groggy DH, asking him to pick one. He touched the forefinger, without even asking what it was for, might as well have been for whether he gets to live the day ;--). Forefinger meant Tennis was the game of the morning.
Contrary to my earlier thought that playing Racquet ball, which we have started playing recently just because we have the court in our gym, was equivalent to playing Tennis, except you dont have to pick up balls as much, Tennis seemed to take more of my breath than Racquet ball, and Tennis certainly makes my body ache much more. So overall, Tennis is a much better exercise than Racquet ball. If only we didnt have to sneak in to our old apartment complex in the wee hours of Saturday morning (read 8AM) before the any of the management folks came in, to have a good game.

Did you know you can have soo much time to do soo many things if you just shut off the Idiot Box? Doing is the next thing, realizing it is first.

Weight -

Having family around me for the past two months, has only shown me my flaws more than anything. It has also shown me how much I have changed in the past years. Also, I realized, just how much patience, parents have. Experience is wisdom. I completely agree. I also missed being under the shelter of parents, being guided by wise words of my Dad, him, always bringing me back to the path of righteousness, honesty, humility, whenever I went astray. I do remember my old self, the gawky teenager, working hard to realize her dreams, her determination only fuelled by good words of wisdom and encouragement from her Dad. I am itching to write more about my Dad, but just a part of this post wont do justice.
Bhars, a friend I know from college, happened to write, how she missed her old dedicated, focussed self from college days. I have to say the same is true in my case as well. May be my circumstances made me as who I was then, and may be, my circumstances have made me who I am now. But, I did read somewhere, your circumstances should not make you, rather you should wield your circumstances to help you be who you want to be. I am not missing my past, I am not regretting the change, I am simply observing.
And making a choice.

May be its time I stopped trying to title my posts.

I think racquet ball is a much much better exercise. I am trying to play squash a bit more regularly in the winter.

Tennis, unless you are good, is pretty poor as an exercise.

Think of it this way. You're not a scholar nerd anymore. You're a philosopher nerd. Isn't that great? You're like a beacon of light for all of us other nerds who are in pursuit of wisdom.
    SK rocks!
