* I almost forgot how much I liked kids. I love their innocence, their awe at new things, their excitement, their eagerness, their naughtiness , everything. Last week I went to a nearby school to meet a class. I will be emailing one of them, twice a week, motivate them, talk about their interests etc. This is a fun volunteer work, it does not take much time, but gives the joy of interacting with kids at a regular basis. I realized as I entered the small Administrative office, I have never been to a middle school in the US, it was my first time. The kids were very very cute, the teacher seemed a little strict. It seems so long ago that I sat in a class with a strict teacher standing in the front. So my Pal was an Indian kid. For a minute I wondered if it was racism, and wondered why I was not paired up with a cute angel girl instead of an Indian boy. They match profiles based on interests and my favorite Subject being Math, what more can I expect than to get the Math Wiz of the class as my Pal. Reading his Goal left me astonished. He wants to study in MIT, and in Harvard and become the CEO of a company bigger than Microsoft!! How cute?! He asked some pretty smart questions, about the work I do, I was surprised he even knew so much.

* This past Saturday was a special day, DH's birthday. I got him Wii. I guess this is the first time DH and I were together on the day of DH's birthday. I surprised him by waking him up at midnight, and asking him to open the gift. And he surprised me with a card!! This is the most surprised I have been, as I did not have an inkling of suspicion that I would get a cute card for his birthday! We thoroughly enjoyed playing all of the weekend. In laws made fun of us saying it is time to get Video games for our kids and not for ourselves ;--) My hand is aching with all the Tennis. All you Wii users, any interesting games you recommend? I am planning to borrow a bunch from the geek in my team.

* I dragged DH to a Pink event for his Birthday. FIL came along as well. By Pink Event I mean HOT Pink Fun Walk/Run Event money raised from which would go to Breast Cancer Research. We enjoyed watching kids and people both old and young, some walked, some ran. I was praying there would be more men, so DH and FIL wouldnt feel too awkward. And I was praying the Tshirt they gave out were not Pink in color. But thankfully, there were many men and kids as well, and the tshirt we got were white, with a big pink square in the middle, which FIL sported proudly.

* Driving for two hours to a different site for a day long meeting, and driving back in horrible Bay Area traffic is not fun at all, especially in the middle of the week. We have air shuttles that fly between sites, but I decide to go for these meetings a bit late and the shuttles are full. Yesterday as I was driving back, I was almost dozing off behind the wheel and I had half a mind to just check in to a hotel for the night on the way. :--(

* I am always impressed with people who have the drive to explore and innovate, who dont lose the zeal to learn new things, find new things, as they grow older in age and in career. I hope I never stop learning, and I hope I never stop using my brains for my work everyday. It may be exhausting, but it is most certainly satisfying.

Two more days for the weekend.
