I never realized my old shoes were so old. Last Saturday, due to a small fight with DH, I sulked and did my own laundry. Like a daft I put all my socks into the washer not realizing I needed atleast one pair to run. Since I was sulking, I didnt take one of DH's 100 socks, he has socks in various colors, to match the trousers, unlike me with plain whites. Yes, if you visit us, you will know who the hoarder is. :--P
So, I decided it was not a big deal and .. ran sans socks. :--S Yes I am weird that way. In the middle of the run I realized the little irriation on my ankle just became too unbearable, so much so that each step hurt. I stopped and removed the shoe, to see something from the shoe, rubbing nastily on my foot, which bruised and bled. I limped my way back home.
Sunday, by when DH and I had made up, I ran with my old shoes, on a nearby trail for the first time. It was one of the good runs, where I didnt have to huff and puff to climb steep hills. I guess most of all I liked it because DH ran by me, instead of a few feet before me, making me feel like a slacker. Somehow this shoe didnt fit well, so midway, DH and I exchanged shoes to share the pain. Helps for us to have almost the same foot size.
Something or the other stopped us from getting my new shoes until this Sunday morning. Right after church, and after groceries, we went and got this NEW shoe! Yippee! Even though it just didnt fit me as well, it felt soooo good. I like the fact that they have no lace.
Thats right. I am elated about my new shoes.

You can close the case. It is 100% proved that SK is that crazy. :--D
Wait, I guess this new shoe is not the only reason for my state today.
I also got a new haircut!! Last time I had a hair cut was in India, and I didnt cut too much, because I was in India and I was going to attend BIL's wedding, I was the responsible elder DIL no? So I couldnt cut my hair short. Before I knew it, my hair grew to alarming lengths. Because I had layered them, I didnt realize they had grown beyond acceptable until I straightened out a lock of hair one fine day. I dont like long hair :--O Its painful to maintain, and I will be terrible at it. The mystery of difficult, not so enjoyable head baths were solved. I needed a haircut, badly.
So with Kavitha's reco of this place in Mountain View, I set up an appointment for today afternoon. Hair Salons don't come easy. You really have to find the right place that suits you, with someone who understands you and err.. you hair. A reco helps.
Though I was disappointed with the exterior of the place, the interior didnt disappoint me. The lady asked me if I wanted my eyebrows done. First I was skeptical. I mean why do women go through the pure torture of waxing/threading eyebrows? Then I gave in, remembering how nice my eyebrows looked after the painful process. Tears streamed from my eyes as she pulled bits of hair from my eyebrow. It is still hurting now.
I got a nice head massage along with the hair wash. It was nice to be pampered. The lady did a great job and somehow made my not so thick hair look full and beautiful. I came out a happy woman, vowing to take good care of my hair from now on. I know I will promptly forget this vow come tomorrow.
But for now, I like the new short hair cut. DH says it makes me look young (!!) and active (!!).
Me likes because it is new and different.
Thus ends my absolutely pointless post.
Have a happy week y'all! |

Which saloon is this? The last time I cut my hair, the stylist took out total chunks of my hair. I am still waiting for it to grow out and not look like a family of rats feasted on it :-(.
