I am hitting the dreaded 30 this month. Its all downhill from here. I always seem to be dragging behind as far as age is concerned. Just not able to reconcile with the fact that I am older than what I want to think. ;--)
This year has flown by so quickly cannot believe its going to be mid year already. I have mid year goals and I have end of the year goals. I have no idea how I am going to get all of them done. Its a matter of time and energy.
Adding to the dreaded aging process, DH and I succumbed to numerous words of advice from people and..bought a house!! We are no longer the DINK with no home who the Govt eyes with distinct pleasure of getting to loot all the hard earned money. Instead we are paupers indebted for life. Hmm now makes me wonder which is better?
I have dreamt of homes, in the US, it has always been elusive. Mostly because we were not sure if we would be living for so long in the US, then because we were not living in a single location, DH was always travelling. Its not that we have settled now, but atleast we know this is where we will be roaming around for sure.
I have stories to write about the whole process, if only I had the time!
Last Friday saw DH and I sitting in Elephant Bar sipping virgin Margarita, with our realtor and bank agent, 'celebrating' the buying of the home. Somehow I had a constant feeling that they were arachufying molaga on our heads. But its all done, yet again we have to move :--( The thought itself is scary enough to make me want to not move into the new home. Well its not technically 'new' home, as Kutti put it, its a 'used' home. ;--)
So anyway as I was saying, I had dreams of US homes, huge kithcens, huge living rooms, huge backyards, huge bathrooms. And then we decided to settle in the Bay Area :--( Homes are just extended apartments if I may say so, and are priced so exorbitantly, its totally unrealistic, something only Bay Area folks can relate to.
Anyway more later. Got to get back to work. Just wanted to share the news. |
