Sunday night we were generally running around. BSK was like 'Amma run, amma pidi pidi' and running the small loop from family to living to play area to kitchen. I watched her as she swerved to make turns just like a motorbike would, too cute to watch. But she has become reckless. She would just throw herself on either of us running. We made a mental note to reinforce child proofing some more, edges, kitchen counter tops etc. She can reach to the top and pick stuff that are in the corner.
So yesterday afternoon a call came from day care. She had a small accident, tripped and fell down while running around as usual. Blood, and swelling. They tried ice her lips which she obviously didnt let them do. She cried for 10mins and apparently after that went about her activities like nothing happened! So miss BSK is with a swollen reddish lip, going around like nothing is wrong.
I wanted to record this since this is the first of i dont know how many more incidents I have to encounter.
The blood in her clothes freaked me out.
You can be careful only so much. |

Hello SK,
I have been following your blog and been reading your archives for a while now. I feel soo connected that I felt the need to leave a word here. I can see so much myself and my life in your blog. I am a 25 year old too, married for exactly a year now, to my best friend from college in India. We also came to the US to get our Masters and we are now working here on the East Coast. I am now reading your entries from 2008, when you were about two years into wedded life and I can relate to sooo much of what you have written.
Just wanted to say hi and let you know that you have a very nice way of putting your thoughts in words. Kudos and say hello little Miss BSK from me :)
Cheers, PK.
