I managed to go to Big Basin at 12:30 right in time for lunch. I was there until 6pm.
- Ate Lemon rice, coconut rice, peanut chutney
- Played Mafia
- Played Dodgeball
- Went for a short hike
- Played Uno
And of course spent time with all the kiddos. 1 10month old, 2 year olds, 2 3 year olds, 2 4 year olds, 1 third grader and 1 6th grader
JSK was so happy and so comfortable with everyone. I drove into the campsite and I saw her with a friend I, along with one of JSK's friend. DH was playing frisbee.
The good thing about group camping is the sites are huge and there are many parking spots. And lot of food. And lot of activities. Kids do their own thing, adults have fun. JSK wanted to sleep with G her new friend for her nap. She didnt miss me at all. Sniff. Sniff. I want her to be independent and all that, but still it hurts. :--P DH seems to be too carefree with JSK, not keeping an eye on her. Hope they all return safe and sound.
Just driving Mia was so much fun in the winding roads. No breaks needed, regeneration worked just fine. The tables were turned, I was one of impatient drivers wanting to go as fast as possible.
Kids had mosquito bites. First time camping for a lot of folks. First time camping is always memorable and eventful. One family, put up the tents with headlights on, drained the battery. Thankfully they had the jumpstarter. And they also dented their car on the numerous rocks that line the parking areas. :--( I hope this doesnt deter them from camping again.
As I was driving I could physically feel the stress leave me, head lighten up, ears ringing reduced. Weekends are my stress busters. This quick short break has done wonders. Now if I can get 8 hrs of sleep I will be all ready for the next week. |
