| Weekend started early by Friday afternoon. We drove to Tahoe City close to where we were camping for the weekend. - great company - lot of food - beautiful scenery - too much fun
As any camping should be.
We came back and realized there was a block party in our circle. Dirty and tired we spent a hour there meeting people. The city fire truck was there which was more interesting than the jumpy house for the kids. We went in a vehicle that looked like an ambulance but was a travelling cellular tower managed by a professor ofCarnegie Mellon. I struck a conversation with him and he happened to know the big shots of my company! We were having an interesting conversation when he told me he was the CTO of Nokia for a while. Pardon me while I get awestruck for a moment. I got his visiting card. He lives two streets from me, which makes me feel smaller than an ant and very under accomplished and totally out of place. Another person came by and we got talking more when he said he wrote parts of the Ethernet specs and the once CTO of Nokia actually interviewed with him. All right it was all getting too much for me who was just hoping to make some friends with neighbors so dotter can have some play dates. I bid adieu after awhile when dotter got impatient to leave.
On our way back we met one of our Neighbours finally. She has two girls one in 1st grade which is perfect for dotter to play with. Exchanged numbers.
Meeting our volunteer friends is always fun, leaves me energized and feeling good about everything in general. What more is needed from a weekend?!
