I am.
Yesterday I carpooled with a couple of girls from work, who lived in the same Apt complex as I do. I was feeling extra lonely, having had a long day, I thought I would be very friendly. I am not usually very friendly, atleast thats the impression I give to the others. The same girls I have met at the gym quite often, I dont talk much, just answer their questions and smile a lot. This time, I made an effort to be overly friendly, and ended up feeling offended. Although I am sure the girls were just normal. They say you cant lose if you dont try. I never try to make new friends. So if I dont have too many friends, its because I never tried, and so I am not a loser. Thats my reasoning. I am overly sensitive, thats my problem.
Are there friendships rules, like dating rules? You do so and so on the first meeting, this and this on the second, and then third base blah blah etc etc? If there are, I definitely dont know about them.
A small correction, I have this issue only with elders and girls. I go along amazingly well with guys, who are more carefree, and easy going.
We watched an old movie Devil's Advocate the other day, it hit me hard. Vanity, pride, is so taken for granted these days in people. I have a problem with that. Humanity does seem to be fading away, with self-centeredness taking its place. Thats why I have never felt like I belonged here in this country. I try to fit in, but I end up feeling unhappy, leading an artificial life.
Are people really what they portray themselves to be? I dont know. I would really like to know people thought about me. Weird? Silly? Dont know. Definitely not friendly, I think. |

Okay, now seriously answering your questions:
1. Amen to guys are sooooo much better to get along with. Me too! Girls can get b*tchy with each other. Of course not all, like I am a nice girl of course! ;-)
2. When I come down to CA sometime next year, we shall meet and then I shall praise you ad nauseum on how nice a friend you are, Coz you sound like one :)

Hey, are you talking about the same you I met in the bay?? Coz I thought you were super sweet, nice and easy to get along with (or wait a minute, am I subconsciously a guy :-|?)
Don't think too much - you are a great person :-)! However, it is kinda impossible for any one person to get along super well with everyone else and in this case, it is their loss, not yours! Adhukaaga don't blame yourself !
Why lonely and all? Xmas vacation coming soon - cheer up :-D!

Cmon, its not all that bad out there. And coming from someone who (like you) would swear by men being easy-going and friendlier, take my word. When you need that emotional crutch, its most times a woman friend that comes to the rescue. Guys give you solutions, but dont like to listen for listening sake :D.
Its a matter of waiting patiently for a/some good women friends. And everyone has a personality-you are what you are, so dont put yourself down.
