Ramblings Only

Just ramblings, only a vent for emotions, feelings and all the good stuff

Boredom
Wednesday, January 26, 2011
Titles coming to my mind are boredom and restlessness for this post of mine. Which is not very different from patience.

Weekends are not so bad. In fact last weekend was good. Some reading, some TV catching up, some volunteering and some cooking.

We had a poster making party at our place for the protest for Dr Binaya Sen's release. More about the issue here for the uninitiated. I was totally not prepared for the gathering. DH got some snacks and would make some chai. I was a bit concerned if we had enough snacks to provide for everyone. Yet again, the people in the group beat my expectations. Three of them got sweets/snacks/brownies etc. So much so we didnt have to open the stuff we bought! I love these gatherings, people are SO nice, I have no words. They dont just come mess up your place and leave, many offer to clean up after the event is done. How conscious. And needless to say there was a lot of leftovers, which folks refused to take back. Now we have more than enough snacks and savories, thanks to one more load from an India-returned friend. Fridge is stocked, stomach is full.

We spent the afternoon making posters for the protest, and I wrote and wrote, three posters, till the back ache surfaced. Writing with hand is something I love to do. I miss it with computers taking over everything.

By the end of the weekend I was one happy duckling.

Weekdays are a whole another deal. I feel like I have a lot of time at hand. Work is busy, but still boring as I just try to complete tasks with no interest whatsoever. If I take interest, all the flaws in the system just gape at me and I feel irritated at my inability to change things. DH says its a good trait I have. If I don't like something, I do something about it. I don't crib and wallow and continue doing nothing about it. But it also costs me a lot of heartache and emotional trauma.

I have weaned away from lot of activities. For fear I may not be able to take them to completion. End result - Boredom. Mind blowing boredom.

So days are just passing by, dragging by.
