Last post was pathetic. Blame it on the hormones. :--) Heeding to Porkodi's words (thanks for the pick up lines)..
To focus on some other things happening in life -
* I almost forgot about the little trip to San Mateo downtown we took last weekend. For furniture shopping! After dilly dallying to get the best furniture for the family room, finally zeroed in on some things. I like Swedish designs which are more contemporary. Scandinavian Designs is one of my favorite stores for shopping. They are being delivered today! DH and I are working from home. Now the house will look a bit more lived in. We stopped by a Used Books store. I liked the store, small and very cute. Got books at about 4-5bucks each, quite a steal.
* A friend got back from Maternity leave and it is indeed nice to have her around. With so many new moms, second moms around, I have been intimidated quite a bit about what a nightmare I have to be prepared for. Thankfully, my parents and in laws are going to be around, and so hopefully I should be able to manage.
* Some guy folks and women who have not been pregnant pass some remarks, which I consider unkind in the ears of a poor pregnant woman, especially with the hormones making a ruckus. Like Rachel says in Friends, "No uterus, no opinion" :--) Also "Never been pregnant, have no opinion" ;--)
* Driving time is the time I bond with the baby. I listen to music and sing with it. The baby must be wondering what the heck is that noise. LOL! The baby, I should give her a name in blogdom, little SK, LSK, how does that sound? So little SK likes sweet stuff, kicks around a lot when I eat something sweet like orange juice, or lemonade.
* I like situation songs to accompany me in the car. When I was hopelessly in love in Madison, all Tamil songs seemed to have been written for me and me only. I would be able to associate with the songs, the words in the songs. Recently, when randomly this song popped up on the iPod, I listened to the lyrics for the first time and my eyes welled up, involuntarily. This is the song,"Idhu sangeetha thirunalo" from Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai. To be frank I have never listened to this song, I enjoy listening to "Ennai thalatta varuaalo", and this song having the same tune, really didnt entice me that much until recently. Even before it was confirmed we are having a girl, I somehow felt we were having a girl (the horrid morning sickness was the first hint). I always imagined a little girl only, even thought of a name for her. I was really hoping it would not be a boy at the ultrasound, I didnt have a name and I wasnt sure if I can change my thinking. A 'mother's instinct' I guess! First time I have referred to myself as a mother. Grass itching.
Here is the lyrics for the song, no enthu to translate in English.
Idhu sangeetha thirunaaLo, pudhu sandhosham varum naaLo Rathi nam veettil pirandhaaLo, siru poovaha malarndhaaLo Chinna chinna asaivil sithirangaL varaindhaaL Mutha mazhai kannam vizha nanaindhaLe Konji konji pinju nadai nadandhale

(I have exceeded mush levels for the next two months I think)
* Weekend is just around the corner. Yay! Its going to be a busy busy one. |

Oh....thanks for posting the lyrics. Lovely song! That is the power of music isn't it? Enjoy the pregnancy and I've no doubts you'll be a wonderful mom.
People will say things that may scare you, but remember this: You may know lots of folks who are mothers, but your child only knows one mother - you! So, whatever you do is going to be the very best for your baby and she will ADORE you.
