| L is for love |

Love is the kick of an unborn child
Making a distant dream become reality
Love is the kiss planted on your head
As you open your eyes in the alien world
Love is the happiness
In watching you take the first steps
Love is in the sleepless nights
Spent soothing and comforting your hot self
Love is the way your father runs breathless
Behind you as you ride away towards sunset
Love is what your mom packs
In the same old food in your lunchbox
Love is the tears that appear in the corner
Of the eyes when insults are hurled
Love is the quietness that prevails
When respect has disappeared
Love trusts your instincts
When you choose your loved one
Love forgives and forgets
Love never gives up though
Love is having a soft shoulder
To cry on when the going is tough
Love is realizing just how much
You were loved all along
Love could be fire, but at times
It is just a smoldering smoke
May not have a spark or crackle
But provide warmth, it does
Love is wrinkled hands and soft skin
After spending years tending to you
Looking for nothing in return
But love eternal.
And that is how bad 'poems' are written!
