Are you stressed? Camp this weekend! All the stress will melt away and you will come back with renewed energy and the mindset to handle anything! Friday morning dawned with me cursing DH for planning camping, all the deadlines loomed over me. But by 330 we packed and left to Del Valle Regional Park. A and S and us are camping after two years but JSK and E had no trouble getting together and having the most fun. Camp fire time is my most favorite time of camping, kids are asleep, fire is burning, slightly chilly air, lots of laughter talking about past present and future. Some time in the water, some time under the sun inside a canopy, lot of yummy food. The one year old sibling also had a ball exploring and getting dirty. Even though it was only two days it felt like a different world where your day to day problems seemed too trivial. Everything will be all right.

I am working on handling stress. My SIL incidentally was on local TV in Bangalore to talk about just that, stress. I am reading this book The Practicing Mind and it talks beautifully about a flower. At which stage is a flower perfect - when it is a seed, when it is a sapling, or when it is a full blown flower? The answer is, at each stage it is perfect doing what it is supposed to do. We should live our life as a flower, be perfect in each state. I also want to practice being in the moment. Living every moment by being in it fully is the answer to leading the fullest life. Split your life into small chunks and as long as you live each little chunk to its fullest by theory of some math concept your whole life is lived to the fullest. My zen moment yesterday.

Ok guys and gals I am going to Africa! It is confirmed! I am selected to go, I don't know if any bombshell will be dropped that will stop me from going. I want DH and JSK to come but let's see. Before that can happen I have an extremely busy September to get through, like scary hellish September, just thinking of it makes my head reel.
But let me cherish my happy moment here. Have a good week! |
