| How much privacy? |

I am sick of Facebook. There I said it. Initially I thought it was a great way to connect with people, but now I think its too much unwanted information overload. We are overloaded with enough information at work and media and internet as it is, FB just adds useless information overload. Stuff that you might be better off not knowing. And add to it zillions of pictures of people going here and there and diwali and dussera and couples and kids. Phew! Dont get me wrong, I love to see pictures and I love some occasional tidbits, trivia. But from 200odd friends? I dont know how some manage to have 700odd friends.
Twitter is probably the same. I am not sure but I believe people tweet every 2minutes, updating what they ate, what they watched, what they are watching at time1, time2, time3 and so on.
I like blogging better than FB and Twitter. You dont update it a million times in a day. And information is not stuffed right on your face in the name of Newsfeed. In Reader you can choose to read whatever you want. You might argue, why open FB in the first place. You are correct. So here I am taking an oath to stop logging into FB for the next month or so. Good riddance I am sure I wont miss anything.
I dont want to give the impression I am a martyr and dont update FB. I do. Once in a while.
Now that said, on to more random stuff, that you can CHOOSE to skip if not in the mood.
So we had the most awaited Concert this weekend. It was super awesome. No words to describe the magic. The volunteers were amazing, it was a well orchestrated event. Palash, had SO much energy! We were wondering if he was going to sing all of three hours and he did!! This after two other concerts last weekend! And apparently he is 45!
What I dont understand is why people were so mad to get autographs and have dinner with the band and take pictures with the group. They are also just people like us. Why treat them like they are Gods? I think my attitude changed when I joined PSBB. I was standing in line at the assembly one day. I saw this super fair guy standing next to me. For days, everyday I used to rack my head trying to wonder where I had seen this guy earlier. Then it dawned on me. He was Kutti Anand, from May Madham. I asked my friend and she confirmed. Then I have seen some cricketers who visited the school for Sports Day. And of course YGM and his daughter and some other kids of actors. Oh ..and Harini. She wasnt so well liked in school. Poor thing. That said, everyone said the gang was pretty down to earth. But DH was pissed multiple times when asked to get Chai for the band and called multiple times to check on the status and to heat up food for them individually, only short of putting food into the mouths. And then there was this potluck with the volunteers last night, since the band was missing good old Indian food. DH and I skipped it. No mood to cook and no mood to socialize.
Will I be any different if it were my latest craze Surya? Good point to ponder. But to be fair I probably wont get too excited. Will be happy to see him but will not flaunt the fact and be in euphoric state. Yes. I am serious.
Life is somehow boring. I need a vacation. I am yearning for some adventure. I need some excitement. There was a time when I having too much fun, so much I didnt have time to write about it ;--). There are highs, there are lows. May be one of these days I will try to complete my Caribbean Cruise travelogue. That will help me relive those times and quench my thirst for adventure. ;--)
I need more energy. Some things are not going as per my plan and I am getting a lot frustrated. At this point I would love to crib about work but its a short week, I will save the complaints for next week.
Those travelling over Thanksgiving be safe, have fun on my behalf too! |
