On being 35

Last year around this time I wrote this post. I sound restless. 

This year, I am at peace. Let me address these before talking about my 35.

1) Fix my ankle! Visit a Chirpractor 
- I did visit the chiropractor. And I gave a good break to my ankles, no noteworthy workouts since June!. I dont have to wear ankle sleeves anymore. Yippee!! But I still need my superfeet soles. This weekend I put my superfeet in my boots and quite enjoyed wearing boots after wearing special footwear for almost a year! 

2) Lose some pounds, what else is new!
- utter fail. I did lose some pounds, but put them back on through the year.

3)  Plan for my upcoming sabbatical - lot of logistics involved but the good news DH has gotten some vacation approved!!! I am dreaming already
- Done.

4) Introspect on what I want to do long term. I am wandering all over the place but mind is not focussing on one thing hence there is no drive to move. I still have a year worth of stuff to learn in this role, but will have to start thinking about the next step.
- I did a lot of introspection. I did switch to a new role, so I am super excited about all the learning! I still dont know what I want to do long term, but I have a plan in place.

5) Do some courses in Stanford/Berkeley? Get some certification? Exec MBA? 
- No plans yet. But will look into it next year.

6) Get a doggie! Once I am back from sabbatical.
- Still WIP. Need to convince DH and find an allergy or hair free, yet super cute doggie! I want a golden retriever, but my allergies dont allow me have one. Boohoo.

7) Train, train, train. Improve cardio fitness. I am strong but not sure about the heart. Need to come up with a feasible plan and follow it through.
- How strong I got! And then I lost all of it. I was doing 25lbs each on biceps and now I am back to 10lbs :--( #fitnessproject is back on! before work takes over

8) Get a new car! The Accord has been with us for 8 years now and it doesnt make sense to have a gas guzzler V6, when I drive 45mi a day on average. 
- Done

9) Need to think about BSK's school for Pre K. Most schools are too academic oriented I hear. Plus I dont want to burden her with peer pressure so early. I want her to be a well rounded personality and from experience, peer pressure puts undue stress on the child which I want to skip. I seriously wish I lived somewhere other than Bay Area so she could get a much diverse experience :--P Only for this reason. 
- BSK is super happy in her new school. She is big time into Art now, enjoys her school and loves her teachers. All the kids are super nice. Silly is a bad word it seems. Oops. This is from a couple of months ago. 



So what is 35 doing to me? 

1) Lose weight ARGH!
2) Eat healthy (double ARGH!)
3) Be more patient with JSK, spend more time with her and DH. Still working on working out at work, has not happened yet.
4) I am super psyched about my new job. Half my team is from a business background. I can learn a lot!
5) (Just got my test results) PKD! All right! Lets face it! ( will write more later once this sinks in a bit)

    Happy birthday...do we share a birthday :)? Mine is today....

    PKD - big bummer :(. I know Stanford has some great doctors who can help you with a plan. So far you've got no issues right? may it stay that way.
