| - relaxed day. No meetings in the morning. Gotta be happy about that.
- met up with a manager I know from my old job, here for coffee. I like these guys. She said I did a good thing moving over to marketing. For now marketing feels tough to me. I thought I am a better people person, but I need to become more of a people person. It is a lot about relationships as well. Especially with customers. I feel like it is a very essential skill, to influence people.
- Most of the field folks are well groomed and well dressed. Can see a marked difference between engineers and sales guys. Even at customer side I can make out what they do just by looking at them ;--P I might do a field role sometime, I know before I do that I have to lose some weight. I am happy to learn how everything ties together, how the company works, it is interesting. We met with product managers, strategy planning, and sales and marketing directors. We ask them to do something and to see them do it and then make money off of it, has to be exhilarating. Excuse me while the engineer in me marvels at the whole thing. - house is on sale. I don't know if it is happy thought or sad thought ;--(( I will miss the house. I will miss my fully functional extremely useful kitchen. We remodeled it so thoughtfully.
- psst you know how Netflix restricts what you can see based on where you are located? I just realized You can circumvent it if you work in a multinational company by doing a secure access from any country router you want ;--) I couldn't see Last Man Standing in Taiwan, so connected through Malaysia and I can see ;--) On the other hand connecting through Taiwan I can see Suits! And Gravity! Will try it when I get home.
- (Edited to add) I am thankful to be alive having reached hotel safely after a scary cab ride from customer site. He was a reckless driver accelerating and braking like it was no ones business. He got into a name calling fight with a jeep on the road, he would squeeze into tight spaces to get ahead, I am sure he upset a lot of people around him. We were hoping we would make it safely without getting into an accident. Colleague joked saying if he hits he will hit my side first. ;--P what nice people I work with. I have one more cab ride pray it will be smooth.
