Four days

With a full four days with little BSK I want to capture all the beautiful things about her.

When she is happy or excited she kicks her legs, both of them at the same time. Its too cute. When she sees one of us coming to her to pick her up, she kicks. When we smile, she kicks. In the bath tub as she is just getting used to the warm water when I slowly show her rubber toy, she kicks all the water out of the tub.

A new thing she has learnt right after her 6 month shots and tears is crinkling of the nose. I think we saw her cry for real only that evening. She crinkled her nose and cried. It was sad, but it was too darn cute. And for the past few days she has been crinkling her nose like its nobody's business. I guess its something new that she has learnt and wants to do it at every opportunity. Its adorable. If she gets irritated she crinkles. If she is restless she crinkles. She we dont give her her toy to chew on she crinkles. Sometimes she crinkles just because she can and she wants to!

She likes to prandify or scratch anything that comes to her fingers. Like pulling it to herself. The bottle, the dress, her dress, hair, my nose, my mouth, even my eyes. Madame does not like to lie down now, she wants to sit tall and see the world. She likes it more when I pick her up and carry her over my head. She loves to look down on me. Sigh! She likes to bounce, and swing too. If we put her on the bed and hit hard around her so the bed bounces, she loves it and screams.

She likes to feel the breeze on her face. So we were walking on the GoldenGate Bridge with BSK all tucked in in the stroller. It was pretty windy. BSK started bickering after an hour into the walk. She bleats like a goat first :--P its takes a while before it transforms into a full blown cry, it very rarely does. She had been in the stroller for too long and just wanted out. We thought may be she was hungry and started hurrying to the parking lot. But then at one point I just decided to take her out and carry her. And she immediately stopped crying, and started look around at the traffic at the people, with the wind on her face. She seemed to love it! Little BSK please dont change, love the outdoors as you do now and forever. Pretty soon her nose was pink. We decided to put her back in, and again she started bleating. DH hurried to the car as fast as he could while we tagged hurriedly behind, our leisurely walk turned into a run-walk, I did not complain.

We had a late lunch at Boudin. BSK wanted to pick at anything within her reach on the table. Whenever we go to restaurants we pick turns having BSK or feeding her while the other eats. But I realize one can never eat at peace with a baby at tow. Which is good in a way I guess.  A friend at work swears she lost all her baby weight running around her toddler to make her eat. By the time she fed the baby she lost all interest in eating herself. Ok, now that gives me incentive to wish DH and I were alone taking care of BSK.

There was Santa at Boudin and we decided to take pictures of BSK here than the crowded malls. There was no big line thankfully.  I kind of expected BSK to cling to me and not go to Santa but BSK surprised us. She sat peacefully on Santa's lap posed for pictures and pulled at Santa's beard and moustache, not leaving his specs. She looked soooooo cute. DH told Santa that she might not lot go of his beard and Santa replied, 'She will not be the first one.' How cute! Someone random lady in the line called FIL and said BSK looks beautiful! As I came out she asked me if I was the Mom and she said again that I have a beautiful baby. My day was made!

BSK swims.. on the floor. Its adorable and sometimes I feel sorry for her. She props herself on her tummy lifts her hands and legs and.. swims. When she is excited. I sometimes play with her when I am eating, take my spoon close to her. She will look at it, obviously she wants to taste it, but she will hesitate for a minute as if she knows that I will pull it off when she heads for it, and truly when she slowly opens her mouth and comes to the spoon, I heartlessly pull it away. BSK will have an emantha look which sometimes tears my heart. BSK's expressions are just priceless.

BSK has started stringing vowels. Its no longer aaa or ooo but rather it is aaaeee or eeeooo, more like two syllables which   sounds like she is really trying to tell us something. Cannot wait for her to say Ma, or for that matter, Pa or Tha or anything, purposefully.

BSK eats solids very well. I think she just likes to have the spoon in her mouth, the solids going in is just a bonus for us. I love to watch her go mum mum mum. Most times she is so excited to have the spoon that she closes her mouth with so much enthu, all the food splashes out of the little spoon, dirtying the high chair, her bib, her clothes, getting food on her nose, hair, chin, eyebrows. Hmm. I know more exciting things are waiting for me this is nothing :--P

Enough about BSK, this is my blog no? Finally after deliberating for weeks I have transitioned to skinnies!! Yep. Gone are the days when I found flares flattering on me and found them to be my staples, I am in love with skinny jeans. I just had to look for the right kind to flatter me. I found a pair in Gap and in spite of the super long lines which would have deterred me from buying anything, I got them. Yippe!! And I got my first pair of boots! I guess I am probably the last female on earth to finally give in to the trend of skinny jeans and boots. But arrived I have!  They dont look half as bad as I thought they would look.  SF saw a fashionista in me with dress/shrug/leggings/scarf/boots/long coat. As I told DH I was going for the 'sophisticated' look :--P Already compliments are pouring in. Finally the pounds shed are showing I guess. Long way to go but long way I have come. PS: No I DID NOT wake up in the middle of the night and line up at the mall on Black Friday.

Oh...my! This really feels like going into my brain and reading what I am thinking! It helps so much having a baby the same age, although mine has not started crawling yet.
I have been thinking of the skinny-boots combination, but am too shy to try it. So, I bought it for my daughter instead and ...does she look smart?! Well...kaakai-ku than kunju pon kunju, but still I think she looks incredibly smart!

Your post took me back to the time my soon-to-be-8 was a baby...
Oh how I miss the cuteness.
Enjoy every moment now - they grow up so fast. Of course they are wonderful as they grow up too, but in a different way.
